The first fortnight after aliyah is the hardest logistics problem a family will have for years. The lift has not arrived, so there are no pots. The bank account is not open, the phone numbers do not work yet, and the nearest makolet is a mystery. Cooking is out of the question and eating out every night is unaffordable on day three.
