About Siyum Catering and Platters
A siyum is a seudas mitzvah, which means the meal is part of the occasion rather than an add-on to it. In practice that is a table at the back of the beis medrash: cake, miniatures, herring and dips, drinks, sometimes a full meal if the siyum is marking something substantial.
It is a natural thing to send from abroad when a son, a husband or a talmid finishes something, because you cannot be in the room but the food can be. Set the delivery date at checkout for the morning of, and check the store's kashrut against what the yeshiva or shul holds by — a siyum table is scrutinised more than most.
