Cheesecake has one week a year when demand triples and fifty-one when it is simply the best dairy dessert on the menu. Around Shavuos it is what everybody is sending and everybody is serving, which is exactly when ordering ahead matters — the delivery dates at checkout come from each bakery's real capacity, and the good ones fill up.
Outside of Shavuos it is a dairy brunch dessert, a birthday alternative for someone who does not want a decorated cake, and a safe gift to a household you know keeps dairy.
