About Bridal Shower Gifts and Platters
A shower is one of the few pre-wedding events with no fixed halachic shape, so it is run entirely on what the hosts arrange. That usually means a dessert table, something photogenic in the middle of it, and flowers. It is also usually organised by friends rather than family, which is why the food tends to be ordered in rather than cooked.
The practical gift, if you are not attending, is to send one component: a fruit platter, a tray of miniatures, a chocolate arrangement. If the gift is for the kallah herself, it goes to the house rather than the party. Choose the delivery date and time at checkout so a dessert platter is not sitting in a kitchen for six hours first.
