Milk chocolate, pralines and truffles from Israeli chocolatiers — the richer gift, for a table where dairy is fine.
Dairy chocolate is simply better chocolate, and everyone knows it — which is why it is the gift to send when you know the household and know that dairy is not a problem. Pralines, truffles and filled chocolates from a local chocolatier are a noticeably different object from a supermarket bar, and they read that way when opened.
The constraint is the obvious one: it cannot follow a meat meal, so it is a poor choice for an unknown Friday night table and a good one for a brunch, a birthday, a teacher or an office. Kashrut supervision is shown on each chocolatier's page, and dairy standards vary more than parve ones, so it is worth a look before ordering.
